Once again the Rotary Club of Alresford is encouraging all local residents, businesses, schools, churches, pre-schools, clubs, societies and other organisations to become involved in the Rotary Wessex Christmasshoebox scheme and to bring great happiness to children in Tanzania, Montenegro, Albania and Romania, many of whom will never have previously received a present.
Last year you helped the Rotary Clubs of Alresford and of Four Marks and Medstead contribute 637 boxes of presents towards a total of 27,434 collected in the Wessex area, but with New Alresford alone having a population of well in excess of 5000 we hope we can do better this year!
The scheme leaflet, which contains full details of what is and isn’t permissible, in particular to comply with the requirements of International Customs, is displayed below a copy of the leaflet has to go with each box and you can get your copy now by emailing the club via the contact page and a copy will be emailed to you, or from the Club Shoebox Coordinator, James Pinniger (mailto:wjrp@hotmail.co.uktel: 01962 738788). To make sure your packed box gets on the transport, it must be ready no later than the week commencing 6th November.
